Yarnwhisperer is the yarn colourist and stash enabling creative outlet for Kitey (Andrew) who first began research and development dyeing in September 2019 after a trip to Spain. This inspired his first collection of brightly coloured yarn: his Tapas collection, and he opened his online shop in January 2020.

Kitey dyes mostly British bases including 4ply, DK and Chunky weights, along with his popular and ENORMOUS 500g Guernsey ‘Sport’ hanks, across a range of current collections. He also dyes ‘special event’, limited seasonal releases, and runs a bespoke ‘Dye to Order’ service on a monthly slot basis. He has plans for ‘Dyeing to Learn’ courses. After all, once a teacher, always a teacher!

He is inspired by colour, through foods & drink, nature, and the Universe, and loves the way dyes mix in the water of the dyebath. He uses this in his process to create bold and bright yarns that I’m sure will feature in your upcoming yarn adventures.
