Knitting is an amazing skill and an enjoyable pastime, but as a designer it is important to me that I ensure you are able to enjoy knitting my patterns as much as possible.e:

Easy to read font, colour and layout

  • I use two fonts in my patterns: Arial for the main body text and AR Berkley for the main title only. If you have an issue reading the pattern via your usual reading method or the fonts cause you any issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • I use black text on a white background with dark blue accents/dividers/borders throughout the pattern. Should this cause you any issues please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • For colourwork charts or hybrid written/chart pattern presentations I use colour schemes that are suitable for both colour blindness and easily differentiated in greyscale for e-readers. Should any of these colour schemes cause you any issues please do no contact me.

  • The patterns are laid out using my own template to provide as much timely information for you to start, work through and complete the knitting pattern. If you have any issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • If you have any issues regarding a pattern that you have purchased from myself, please email me quoting the Pattern Name, Number and date of publication which can be found in the top right hand corner of the pattern.

Important Information to ensure safe and enjoyable knitting

PDF digital downloads.

My patterns are presented as PDF digital downloads.

In order to read a pattern you must have a PDF reader on the device you wish to download the pattern.

The pattern documents are produced in Open Office on a virus and malware protected device which is scanned regularly. If an issue is detected, the threat will be dealt with and a scan carried out to ensure it is safe to continue working on the pattern.

Adobe software is used to produce the PDF documents and ensure that the PDF is as safe as possible for you to download. These PDFs are also scanned for viruses by some of the online market places where I sell my patterns so you can be assured of their safety.

Currently, my patterns are listed for sale on Ravelry, Payhip, Lovecrafts, Ribblr and my own website GoneAwool. If I am collaborating with another business, the pattern will only be available by using a code generated by myself on Payhip and will be sent by either myself or the business I am collaborating with.

If you find one of my patterns listed anywhere else it has not been listed by myself and I have not given permission for it to be listed. Do not download the PDF from any other site because this may not be the actual pattern and there may be a virus or malware danger to your devices.

It is always recommended that you exercise caution and never download a document unless you are sure of its origin, it is from a site you trust and that your devices are protected against viruses and malware.

Please knit responsibly.

Take regular breaks, wear prescribed glasses if applicable and ensure adequate lighting when knitting so that your eyes do not become tired and strained.

Take regular breaks to ensure that you do not strain your fingers, hands, wrists and elbows and sit comfortably with plenty of back support to reduce shoulder and back ache.

Take care when handling and carrying your knitting needles. Needles can be made from a variety of materials and the sharpened ends may not be sharp enough to prick you, but they are capable of causing serious and even life threatening injury should you fall or sit on your needles or catch someone in the face with them. Always carry them with the point facing away from you.

Knitting is a great activity at any age, but knitting needles and yarn are not toys and it is recommended that children under the age of 13 are supervised at all times and use age appropriate needles to reduce the risk of injury.

Wear your finished knits carefully.

Currently my patterns are for scarves, cowls, hats and home accessory designs.

Please do not wear your finished scarves or cowls where there is a risk of them being caught or trapped and therefore increase the risk of neck injury or strangulation

Ensure that hats fit properly to ensure they do not slip down over the eyes and potentially cause an accident and injury to both yourself or others.

My patterns are aimed at adults, but should you wish to adapt a pattern to knit a child size version, please supervise the child at all times when they are wearing their scarf, cowl or hat
