Hip To be Squared cowl

Stylish accessories are often the simplest and this knitted cowl design is certainly stylish and simple as well as being a fabulous beginner friendly knitting pattern. This cowl is beautifully textured, easy to wear and looks great on anyone.

One of my bestselling patterns, the stocking stitch blocks, bordered by moss stitch are a joy to knit. It’s incredibly relaxing and also knits up very quickly. It’s the perfect weekend knitting project and is certainly a great last minute gift knit too!

Knitted flat, this cowl only takes one skein of DK yarn and looks amazing in solid or variegated yarns. But it’s also a great pattern for using up your left over yarns. You could add single pops of colour, change colour after every set of blocks or even with every block.

The finished cowl is lightweight, but cosy so you can easily slip it on and off when you’re out and about or keep in your bag or pocket for when you need that extra bit of warmth. It’s also a great hands free accessory for helping you stay warm if you’re working from home or you’re just curled up relaxing on the sofa in your PJs.

But whether you knit this fun and quick cowl pattern for yourself or for someone else, it is a fabulously useful addition to anyone’s knitwear collection.

Happy knitting!
