Something For next weekend

When I designed my Something For The Weekend pattern two years ago, I had no idea how popular it would be or that it would spawn a whole collection.

The beauty of these one skein triangular scarf designs is that they capture the essence of a weekend perfectly. When you cast on it feels like a Friday night where the end of the weekend seems a long way off. And you knit away happily until Sunday night suddenly creeps up on you and it's the start of another week. And this is what happens with these patterns. Suddenly you've come to the last stitch and you can't wait to cast on the next one!

Something For Next Weekend is no different. It is an addictive pattern that can be knitted by anyone and looks great on anyone. It's a perfect box set companion or holiday knit with a lovely balance of stocking stitch and eyelet sections that make it an easy project to put down and pick up again.

This design is probably the simplest of the collection. It is much more open with the alternating sections of stocking stitch and eyelet motifs following the same order throughout the project. So although you still have to keep an eye on your stitch count, once you know the order, you'll know what's coming up next! And that makes the knit much more relaxing!

Using 4ply yarn, the pattern is great value for money as you get a lot of scarf for your money and you also get an accessory that is cool enough to be worn in the summer and warm enough to keep you cosy in the cooler months.

But most importantly, once you've had fun knitting this scarf, you'll have a great addition to your accessories wardrobe. Or maybe more if you enjoy knitting it that much!

Happy Knitting!
